Rarely does a film hit the jackpot quite so spectacularly, but with the magical combination of great directing, soundtrack, acting, cinematography and believability this film does just that.
Silver Linings Playbook is a tightrope balancing between hilarious comedy and poignant psychological drama. The story, so simple and genuine, is told with honesty and passion; and acted to perfection by an incredible cast — Robert De Niro gives his best performance in years. Not to mention Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence giving the performances of their careers.
With a simple, yet gripping, storyline and cleverly written characters it is a film designed for the masses to enjoy — but it is shot, and acted, with such intimacy that it feels personal.
